Some months ago, Hannah was big into talking about how she was going to marry this or that of her friends, all boys. When her very good friend Jayme informed Hannah that she would like to marry her, Hannah just about lost it. "Girls cannot marry girls, girls can only marry boys." Oh, and she was adamant too. It is unclear to me where she's coming up with this line of thinking.
Today, in the car on the way to school, we picked up this topic again. She started off by stating--very much a propos of nothing--that girls can only be with boys and boys can only be with girls when they get married. I asked her what happens when 2 girls love each other very much and want to get married. She thought about that for a while before saying: "Well, Sequoia is my best friend and I don't want to marry her." I told her that was fine, but what if 2 women fall in love and they want to get married? It sounded like she was willing to consider it.
I thought the conversation was over, but a few minutes later: "Mom, what if 2 girls and 2 boys all want to get married?" That sounds like a lot of people to all be married to each other, I told her. But Hannah says that, no, 4 people is not too many. 24 people would be too many, apparently, though I'm not sure how she decides these things. Slippery slope, slippery slope indeed.

I imagine alot of women would want to marry you, Naomi. I would consider it if you were doing all the cooking, filling the photo albums and the like...Brandon is a wonderful "wife", but he doesn't cook like you. HA!
